My First Massage

I was 28 years old when I was given my first gift certificate for massage.
My hopes were high and I was very excited. However, I became very nervous when I saw the other women in the spa that day.
They were obviously comfortable with the luxurious surroundings-the wine, the fancy robes and slippers, and of course the women just like them.
It was not me! But, the good part was that I really loved the massage.
So,I began to imagine what it would be like for people who were like me to have "a little more like home" place to go get a massage.
It was then that I decided to go back to massage school and become a massage therapist. I wanted to create a nice place, that was also "homey" and down to earth for folks to come to and relax and get massage.
That was 10 years ago, and I hope I've given my clients relaxation and a peaceful environment when they visit my practice-that's always my goal!
